Delivery & Parcel Liability Policy
This policy explains the responsibilities and liability limitations for deliveries arranged through the Movexy platform.
Sender Responsibilities
- Items must be properly packaged to prevent damage during transport.
- The sender must provide accurate pickup and delivery details.
- Senders must ensure that items comply with the Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.
Driver Responsibilities
- Drivers must handle parcels with reasonable care.
- Drivers must deliver items to the correct recipient.
- Drivers may refuse items that appear unsafe or illegal.
Movexy Liability Limitations
Movexy operates as a technology platform connecting customers, vendors, and drivers. Movexy is not the direct carrier of parcels.
Movexy shall not be liable for:
- Damage caused by improper packaging.
- Delays due to traffic, weather, or external circumstances.
- Incorrect delivery information provided by the sender.
Lost or Damaged Items
If a parcel is reported lost or damaged, Movexy may investigate the incident using available transaction and delivery records.
Compensation Limits
Any compensation issued for lost or damaged items will be determined at the discretion of Movexy and may be limited to the delivery fee or the declared parcel value.
Proof of Delivery
Delivery confirmation may include:
- Recipient confirmation
- Photo evidence
- Delivery timestamp recorded in the Movexy system
Claims
Claims regarding lost or damaged parcels must be reported within a reasonable period after delivery.
This policy is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Delivery Disputes & Responsibility
The Movexy platform connects customers, vendors, and independent drivers. In certain situations disputes may arise regarding deliveries. The following guidelines explain how responsibilities are determined.
Driver Damaged an Item
- If damage occurs due to improper handling by the driver during transport, the driver may be held responsible.
- Movexy may investigate the incident using delivery records and driver activity logs.
- Compensation, if applicable, may be recovered from the driver's earnings according to platform policies.
Vendor Sent the Wrong Item
- Vendors are responsible for ensuring the correct item is provided to the driver for delivery.
- If a vendor sends the wrong item, the vendor is responsible for resolving the issue with the customer.
- Movexy may facilitate return logistics but is not responsible for product errors.
Parcel Was Lost During Delivery
- If a parcel is lost while under the driver's custody, Movexy may investigate the delivery records.
- Drivers may be held responsible if negligence or misconduct is identified.
- If loss results from circumstances outside the driver's control, Movexy may determine appropriate compensation at its discretion.
Customer Refused Delivery
- If a customer refuses delivery, the parcel will be returned to the sender.
- Return delivery fees may apply.
- The vendor or sender is responsible for resolving disputes regarding product quality or order accuracy.
Fraud or Misuse
If Movexy detects fraudulent activity from any party (customer, driver, or vendor), the platform reserves the right to suspend accounts and adjust earnings or settlements accordingly.
